Located in Southwest Portland, Block 41 is a high-rise residential building with an amenity space designed to offer residents a modern gathering place for work, relaxation, and entertainment. Heritage Electric handled the lighting and electrical installation throughout the space, turning a raw shell into a finished, inviting environment.
The Space
The amenity level includes four distinct zones: a quiet study area, a curated library, an entertainment lounge, and an outdoor patio complete with a fire pit. Each zone required a different lighting approach: focused task lighting for the study and library, warmer ambient lighting for the lounge, and durable weather-rated fixtures for the patio.
Lighting That Works for Every Use
Good lighting in a shared amenity space has to balance atmosphere with practicality. Residents using the study area need bright, even light that reduces eye strain. The lounge benefits from layered, dimmable fixtures that shift the mood from afternoon productivity to evening relaxation. The patio and fire pit area required fixtures rated for outdoor exposure while still contributing to the overall design aesthetic.
Heritage Electric worked with the project team to specify and install fixtures that met each zone’s functional requirements while maintaining a cohesive look across the full floor.
Project Result
The completed installation delivers a polished, well-lit amenity space that residents actually use. Every zone functions as intended, the outdoor electrical is built for the Pacific Northwest climate, and the finished result reflects the quality the building’s residents expect.
